Banking and Investment Index was up by 4.81% to close at 9116.82 points. Gulf Investment Services, ONIC Holding, Oman & Emirates, OIFC and Al Anwar Holding increased by 8.93%, 8.57%, 8.51 %, 8.44% and 7.83% respectively.

The Industrial Sector Index closed at 7314.16 points, up by 3.13%. Dhofar Cattlefeed, National Aluminium, Jazeera Steel Product, Oman Cable Industry and Al Anwar Ceramic were up 9.69%, 8.95%, 6.56%, 5.29% and 3.25% respectively.

At the end of a volatile trading session the benchmark MSM30 Index closed up by 0.13% at 5975.83 points.

Banking and Investment Index was the only sector gainer and was up by 0.100% to close at 8698.78 points. United Finance, DBIH, Oman Emirates, Oman Holdings International, and Transgulf Holding increased by 8.73%, 6.86 %, 4.91%, 3.81 % and 3.42% respectively.

Uncertainty looming around Dubai World’s debt restructuring plan continued to torment the regional markets. Nervous investors continued to get out of the market, sending the MSM30 Index to lowest levels since end of July this year.

Banking and Investment Index continued to be the biggest loser among other sectors and was down by 6.51% to close at 8690.25 points.  Wednesday, December 09, 2009

The Industrial Sector Index closed at 7172.40 points, down by 3.14%. Prices of National Aluminium, Dhofar Cattlefeed, Oman Chlorine, Oman Medical Project and Oman Packaging were down by 9.94%, 9.68%, 7.63%, 7.51% and 6.08% respectively.

Services & Insurance Sector Index was down by 1.80% to close at 2670.41 points. Oman United Insurance, Al Jazeira Services, Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries and Renaissance Services were down by 8.89%, 7.67%, 3.04%, 1.38 % and 0.44% respectively.

Encouraged by the performance of regional bourses yesterday and gaining confidence from the statements of central bank governor, MSM stocks bounced back and closed above 6300 after yesterday’s plunge.  Monday, December 07, 2009
Encouraged by the performance of regional bourses yesterday and gaining confidence from the statements of central bank governor, MSM stocks bounced back and closed above 6300 after yesterday’s plunge. The benchmark MSM30 index was up by 0.32 % to close at 6302.17 points. A total number of 2158 trades were executed in today's trading session, generating turnover of RO 4.67 million with over 11.41 million shares changing hands.
